We’ve all been told that Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and at Norty HQ we like to make sure we have a healthy nourishing breakfast that sets us up for all the daily activities and tasks we need to complete. In the Norty office and kitchens we love to start our mornings with a healthy dollop of our nut butter and I’m sure you guys do too, so we thought we’d share a fantastic new chocolate hazelnut smoothie bowl recipe with you to celebrate the start of a long summer! This breakfast is filling yet refreshing and packed with essential micronutrients!

For this delicious and nutrient dense bowl of goodness all you need is:

2 Frozen Bananas

A splash of hazelnut plant milk

1 tbsp of cacao powder

2 tbsp of you favourite vegan granola

A handful of chopped hazelnuts

5 fresh strawberries

1 tbsp Norty chocolate hazelnut butter

1 tbsp cacao nibs

Method:

  1. To make this delicious recipe pop your frozen bananas into a ninja bullet or blender and blitz for 30 seconds.
  2. Add your plant milk and blitz again until the bananas break down into a frozen smoothie texture (be careful not to make it too runny by over adding plant milk!).
  3. Add in your cacao powder to make it rich and chocolatey and blend again until it’s all combined.
  4. Pour your chocolate smoothie base into your breakfast bowl and top with your granola, sliced strawberries, cacao nibs and a large dollop of the Norty chocolate hazelnut butter.

The bananas make for a great carbohydrate source that will provide you with slow release energy as well as giving you a healthy dose of potassium.
